Children's Ministry at FPC

To grow kids who love Jesus and his family

Worship

The children attend the 11:00 am worship service with their family. After the "children's moment" they are led to their own specially prepared worship space. The boys and girls have a scripture lesson, hear a lesson, sing hymns and praise music, collect an offering and have a faith activity (drama, puppets, crafts, etc.) This is not another Sunday school hour but rather an exciting new way for our children to worship and learn about God.

Children's Church is about children worshipping God. It's not enough for children to sit in rows and watch what's happening at the front. They need to encounter God with their minds, to worship God with their actions, and to praise God with their mouths. And it needs to be fun

Bible Quest

Bible Quest is our Sunday morning educational program for kids, which is based on the Workshop Rotation Model. In it children study one Bible story for a 5 week period. During this 5 week period they spend one Sunday morning in each of the following rooms: Father Abraham's Arcade, Creation Station, Jesus.com, Holywood, Mary & Martha's Kitchen and the Apostle's Theatre.

In these different rooms the children play games, make art projects, work on the computer, watch videos, cook, and act out Bible stories. The premise is that through repetition the children will retain the Bible stories that they learn.

Logos

Logos is our mid-week ministry (k—5th) to this valued segment of the congregation and the community. Logos runs for seven weeks during the fall and spring, meeting on Wednesdays.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is a wonderful week each summer. This summer we are teaming up with St. Peter's Episcopal again to offer a wonderful program to a huge bunch of kids. The focus of each year is always on Jesus Christ and his saving work. VBS will be the week of July 30th - August 3rd.
