Children's Ministry at FPC

To grow kids who love Jesus and his family

Worship

The children attend the 11:00 am worship service with their family. After the "children's moment" they are led to their own specially prepared worship space. The boys and girls have a scripture lesson, hear a lesson, sing hymns and praise music, collect an offering and have a faith activity (drama, puppets, crafts, etc.) This is not another Sunday school hour but rather an exciting new way for our children to worship and learn about God.

Children's Church is about children worshipping God. It's not enough for children to sit in rows and watch what's happening at the front. They need to encounter God with their minds, to worship God with their actions, and to praise God with their mouths. And it needs to be fun

Bible Quest

Bible Quest is our Sunday morning educational program for kids, which is based on the Workshop Rotation Model. It is an exciting way for children to learn. Focusing on one Bible story for five weeks. Children rotate to a different workship each week, including Creation Station (arts & crafts), Apostle's Theatre (drama), Father Abraham's Arcade (games), Holywood (video), Jesus.net (computers) and Mary and Martha's Kitchen (cooking).

The premise is that through repetition the children will retain the Bible stories they learn.

Logos

Logos is our mid-week ministry (k—5th) to this valued segment of the congregation and the community. Logos runs for seven weeks during the fall and spring, meeting on Wednesdays.

Recreation: Kids need to run and play and interact. Worship Skills: Kids learn about music, singing and praising God with all we are. Meals: Mealtime is the heart of Logos. Children are treated to thematic, kid-friendly dinners. Each table is chaperoned by a "table parent" who leads the children in this relaxed time together consisting of food, fun, games, and songs. Bible: After dinner, the children are dismissed to age appropriate Bible classes. Each child will have their own Logos book bag, Logos Bible, and Logos study book. Lessons are geared to help your child become better acquainted with well-loved Bible stories.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is a wonderful week each summer. This summer we are teaming up with St. Peter's Episcopal again to offer a wonderful program to a huge bunch of kids. The focus of each year is always on Jesus Christ and his saving work. VBS will be the week of July 27th - 31st.
